Saturday morning I weighed-in. Watching as the scale sped through numbers I cringed when they rested at 250lbs.
Not too long ago I was at a 10 year low of 205lbs. I saw the weight coming back but chose to ignore it and continued to eat way too much food than I needed and splurged on deserts and snacks throughout the day. The holidays are partially to blame, however it was my own sense of invincibility that led to me lowering my guard and letting all the bad stuff in constantly. I had maintained my weight at around 220lbs for the prior 6 months and was quite proud of myself. And honestly, I should be proud. I’m down over 60lbs from where I started but now it’s time to lose what I’ve gained and continue to lose.
I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the foods you love. Quite the opposite. What good is being the healthiest person in the world if you’re completely miserable?
If you take one thing away from what I’m doing here with Project: FatAss, it’s this:
Self-Control = Success
You want a piece of cake at a work party? Have one, but have a moderately sized piece and not two or three. When you get cravings to snack later just remember to make a healthier choice since you already treated yourself.
My weapon of choice for the next few months is a modified version of the Paleo Diet. Something I think I need to emphasize is that the Paleo Diet isn’t just a ‘diet’… it’s more of a lifestyle change. It’s an approach to eating and living that is more natural and more aligned with how our bodies were meant to be fed. I’ve reviewed a lot of the pros and cons of eating that way and know that reducing carbs works wonders for me.
Some people will respond differently to various eating habits. Find what works for you and stick to it. 🙂 I’ll share how things are going as time goes along.
Here We Go!
How do I subscribe? I have lost 12 pounds in the last two weeks. I am doing what works for me as far as calories and nutrition goes….but I am all for more support and to give some as well. Love ya!
