Before and After photos are the bread and butter of clickbaiting enticement for most websites and videos. Side-by-side comparisons of where the journey began and where it supposedly ended.
Over the years I’ve seen various cynical articles that show just how easy those are to manipulate but for as many of those that there are in the world… there really are success stories and true “before” photos.
Recently I went digging through some old hard disks and happened to find a couple of old photos of myself that were quite shocking. I think I had mentally blocked myself from remembering how I used to be… and even as my weight has risen over the last few years, I look at these photos and tell myself that it’s going to be alright because I escaped from that prison before:
In the past I’ve estimated my weight at approx 310lbs at its peak. Looking at these photos now, I almost wonder if perhaps I was quite a bit heavier.
A few years ago I had dropped to 205. Today, I weighed myself at 265. The yoyo sucks but it was my own fault. Restarting this blog is my way of trying to keep myself accountable. Starting today.
